![]() I have found equal success during hunting season. Using this new device has increased my 3-D scores during the tournament season. Disappeared and created a void between the rest and the arrow and thus, tightened my groups. Absolute amazement replaced the doubt that I had about this new arrow rest. Needless to say, I was totally impressed. After I picked my jaw up of the ground I pulled my arrows and re-shot at the bag and got almost exact results. I aimed at the same spot and the next arrow slid beside the first. I took my newly equipped bow to the back yard, loaded an arrow and shot at my bag target. I was a bit hesitant about this new rest. About two years ago I attached a drop-away arrow rest on my Ben Pearson Diamondback bow. When fall rolls around I then prepare for deer season and usually hunt with my bow through the season. Bowhunters of Alabama Chapter shoots, Archery Shooters Association, International Bowhunters Organization and other shoots occupy my time during the weekends. I shoot 3-D target archery and attend archery competition every weekend during spring and summer. If you know me or follow some of my articles, I shoot year-round. That new device is the drop-away arrow rest. One of these wonderful inventions is what I will rave about today. I was pleased to see this activity beginning months ahead of season and continuing all the way to the week preceding opening day.Īmong the new hardware for compound bows were new sights, high-tech carbon arrows, arrow rests, sound dampeners, and a variety of other devices to make your equipment more efficient. Many practiced in the indoor ranges and got professional tips and advice from archery technicians in the archery shops. New and seasoned hunters were getting ready for the opening day. New equipment and upgrading was the call of the season in every archery shop I visited. Most of you prepared yourselves and your bows and equipment in the months prior to opening day. Hopefully the bow hunters will find that this will have little effect on their hunting. We now have to share the 30 days we had, that was set aside for the past forty years, with crossbows and black powder. By now, all you bow hunters out there will have either taken your first deer of the season or you're still hoping for the shot.
